Anti-Trojans

Anti-Trojan software is designed to prevent attacks via Trojan horses and to delete Trojans if any is discovered on your machine.

Generally this software is alerted to suspiciously opened ports on your computer or to protocols used by Trojans. Some anti-Trojan software have databases of common Trojans and are able to recognize infected files on your system and delete them.

Good points of such programs are:

• High efficiency at fighting Trojan horses
• Easy setup
• Low price

Bad points are:

• Inefficient at fighting viruses
• Specialization is too narrow to guarantee protection from other types of attacks

Anti-Trojan software should not be used as the only protection of your computer against viruses. It is recommended to also use a firewall.
